The "Transition"

A New Design From Graduates of MIT

"Capable of driving at normal highway speeds, flying at speeds that approach the light sport-aircraft limit, and parking in a standard garage, the "Transition" will fundamentally increase the personal mobility of its owners while simultaneously improving the safety and practicality of General Aviation travel."

These are the goals set out for their roadable aircraft by "Terrafugia" a new company founded by graduates of the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It was incorporated in 2006 and is currently based in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Terrafugia has stated it will be part of the EAA annual convention Oshkosh, Wisconsin this summer where it intends to have a display booth. Interested members of the public may meet the Terrafugia team and the "Transition" vehicle.
